Here comes that grand fete celebrating French Culture at the French Institute Alliance Française along 60th Street on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
From crêpes, éclairs, and fromages with refreshing wine and beer, to live music, you won’t want to miss New York City’s ultimate French summer fête. Try your luck at their famous prize drawing, and shop for classic crafts, gourmet treats, and special gifts, as les enfants enjoy face painting and arts-and-crafts activities at the Kids’ Corner.
Yours truly has been to a previous celebration and oh what a party! It’s been going on for over ten years and is the largest public celebration of the historic relationship between the United States and France. Of course July 14 is the date of France’s own Independence Day in 1789.
But please be forewarned. The crowd is quite fantastic and thick. Too us minutes just to be able to travel through the crowd twenty feet. But was it worth it? The day we went we certainly thought so. So enjoy the day filled with cultural foods, entertainment, treats, great music and more!
